Three Perfect Days in Pattaya – Part 1
Walking Street at Night
I left the Windy Inn at 8pm just as the main gogo bars were opening. Some bars on Walking Street open earlier and the beer bars tend to be open all day but the most famous ones open at eight, have a happy hour to around 10pm and go on to 3am or later.
I wanted to check as many places as I could and not commit to a girl until I was reasonably sure I would not get buyer’s remorse as soon as I handed over the barfine. On busy nights in high season I think it is better to commit earlier as the best girls get barfined early. In low season on a weekday I thought I’d be safe saying ?I’ll be back”.
Happy Gogo
My first stop was Happy gogo, at the end of its own little Soi. I wanted to test Smitty’s assertion that they have cute barfineable service girls. (cf my ongoing project in Bangkok to test my theory that service girls are good value.) Let’s say that Smitty understated the situation at Happy. I found the service girls to be not just ready to be taken out but positive little piranha fish – in the best possible way. Once they have hold of you they won’t let go.
Happy was just opening and I was the first or second customer. As soon as I crossed the threshold one service girl took my by the hand and got me a drink. Then she came back to sit with me. Soon she was joined by another and a minute after that by a coyote dancer in moon boots who took turns with another dancing on a small podium.
Like anywhere the girls (at least the more observant ones) take their mood from the customer. I was in a great mood, brought them drinks and bantered with them while trying to see the ostensible main draw of a gogo bar: the dancers on stage.
Granted it was early and the dancers may have been fast asleep an hour before, but I thought they were an uninspiring lot. Only a shuffle on stage wearing bikinis. Some would pull their bikini top down to show their breasts but it was a reflex action – not even slightly erotic. Maybe they needed time to warm up. Meantime the service girls were full of energy and fun.
A third service girl saw we were having a good time and came to join us. She was my favourite and I tried to get her to sit next to me. But when she went to get her drink the coyote girl took her place and was disinclined to move when my favourite, Kik, came back. Coyote girl had something to show me – her generous breasts with hints about what she’d like to see between them. She made it as hard as possible for me to stick to my slowly, slowly plan.
It was quite difficult to get out of Happy without one or more service girls. I am sure they thought they were on to a sure thing with me. I was a little frustrated that Kik was shy (shyness of course being a relative concept in a Pattaya gogo) and I did not get to talk to her. I can always go back.
Carousel Gogo
I like Carousel. They have many pretty girls, good nude shows on the stage alternating with the more conventional dancing with the carousel rotating about one revolution every 90 seconds. (No, I didn’t time it.) Unlike Happy the dancers are the focus of the action and the service girls keep in the background.
I enjoyed being able to watch the dancers and the shows. I liked the ?lotion” show the best. Six girls in three pairs taking turns rubbing lotion into each others’ bodies. I think it was the same group of maybe eight girls who did all the shows, but they were all good looking and not too mechanical. The dancing was a bit boring but unlike Happy the dancers feigned at least that they didn’t mind being on stage and when they showed their breasts they took some interest in the reaction of the audience.
Beside the stage are buckets of ping-pong balls that customers can buy at some outrageous price like 2,000B for 100. The idea is to throw them on the stage and the dancers ?go crazy” chasing them as they get money for each one they can catch. Well, that is the idea but it takes more than 10B a ball to make a Pattaya gogo girl go crazy. One customer tried it and they went through the motions of competing for the balls but their hearts weren’t in it. If the scene on stage had degenerated to a nude wrestling match then it would have been fun. Perhaps it does on a party night.
I chose Dao to come and join me between dances. Our eyes met several times and I didn’t commit to her for a while. Her face wasn’t especially beautiful but her breasts were, I judged, the best in the bar. Lovely nipples. The best looking girl who sometimes was on stage and sometimes doing solo dances on another stage exuded too much attitude for me. When there’s so much beauty around subtle signals make a big difference in whether I’ll spend time with a girl or not. I know that quite likely I am reading the girl incorrectly based on a fleeting expression or the way she stands, but I have to make decisions somehow.
Dao was good company to talk to – a bit older than many at 27 and clearly experienced. She read me well and didn’t push for a barfine and out the door. However the management policy is that within a few minutes of sitting with a girl a mamasan comes around to ask if I want to barfine the dancer and oh, will I buy her a Coke at the same time? I ignored the mamasan completely and whispered to Dao that I like to talk to her directly. She was apologetic but it is the bar’s policy and she didn’t have any say in the matter. I think I went up a little in Dao’s estimation by not succumbing to pressure from the mamasan.
I grumbled when she confirmed that the barfine is 600B – Bangkok prices. She said she did not get a share of the barfine. Dao told me that 600B was the norm on Walking Street and I would not find any cheaper. Of course, if I wanted to slum it on Soi 6 … And so it proved: everywhere I looked was 600B.
I asked Dao about Smitty’s manager friend Jason but he was not working that night.
Dao understood when I told her I wanted to check out some more bars. She knew I was interested and said ?I’ll wait for you.” I told her not to do that: she’s working and if she gets a better offer she should grab it.
Street Food
After Carousel I sought out some street food and happily settled down to eat and people-watch on the soi opposite Angelwitch. Som tam, omelette, seafood salad, rice and water for less than 300B. Saap!
Catz Gogo
Catz and Club Boesche are next to each other in the new ?Covent Garden” complex just off Walking Street on Soi 16. There are big signs for both hanging above Walking Street. I wanted to see the Chiang Mai girl with the great body that Smitty reported on. There was no sign of her but as soon as I sat down I felt a set of laser beam eyes upon me. Catz was busy but all the other customers were occupied with girls. I think that’s a good sign.
The girl did not stop looking at me and smiling all the time she was dancing. Like TQ the girls work their way down a narrow stage song-by-song and it took two or three songs for her to get to the end. By the time she did get down from the stage I was eagerly anticipating her arrival which was doubtless her intention.
Biew was a youngster – only 21 she said and from Udon. She was a beauty and a charmer with a great body and fun attitude. Unfortunately she’s got the same name as my former girlfriend’s daughter and has a faint resemblance to her too. At that time and in that place my mind pushed back against my penis’s enthusiasm and decided that this Biew was too young. I don’t always get the reaction of ?I can’t go with a girl who is young enough to be my daughter” but when I do feel that way I know it is not right for me. I think Biew had had that reaction before from older customers and she didn’t seem too surprised when I confided my misgivings. She was lovely and I have thought since that I was dumb to pass her up. But at the time it was the right thing for me to do.
Club Boesche
I must have timed my visit badly. ?Only” 11pm but the girls were all tired. In particular the three girls assigned to the Jacuzzi show were totally licked out having been licking each others’ pussies for three hours. They moved in slow motion with no enthusiasm at all. However, the area surrounding the tub was packed with spectators and it was hard for me to find a place on the couch. If I were running the place I would have two shifts for that show and alternate every hour. Unfortunately I didn’t see any Khmer girls willing to have fun either. Bad timing.
The show on the glass stage above the main stage was equally lacklustre. They had two girls in short denim shorts dancing with some energy but no displays of their assets. I was expecting something like Baccara in Soi Cowboy.
I talked to one of those dancers, a friendly busty girl called Yang who spoke excellent English. That was due, she said to an English boyfriend. But, she said she dropped him because he was too old for her. ?How old?” I asked. ?Forty-three.” She is 25. At least I knew early I was ruled out of boyfriend status.
We walked around the bar and she pointed out different girls. She said that she considered the club quiet and there weren’t enough people to get a good atmosphere going. I made a mental note to return another night: my timing was off.
Super Baby
By that time it was after midnight and Dao from Carousel was on my mind. Before returning to Carousel I went into Super Baby Gogo next door. It still had many super looking girls un-barfined. They didn’t seem desperate and I didn’t get much attention as I sat at the stage. I stayed for one drink as I hoped that Dao was next door.

I miss Kik too much!
