In Defence of the C Team by Arthur

editor’s note: This post is in reference to the many times we talk about Rawhide and make comments about the C team. Arthur decided to write about it and we are equal opportunity bloggers here.
There’s been a lot of adverse comments about the C Team of dancers at Rawhide. Ugly, pushy, old enough to be your mother and so on. That got me to thinking. Rawhide is a business. They are not a charity for employing ugly old dancers so they must have a reason to keep them on.
I thought of a couple of reasons and verified by observation at Rawhide:
1. They will go with customers other girls won’t. Ugly, drunk, obese – the C Team
takes care of all without fear or favour.
Example: there’s a C Team girl at Rawhide – Dancer C1. She is the one who’ll invite herself to sit next to anyone who’s obviously new to the bar and tries kissing, a sticking her tongue in your ear – just for starters. When it happened to me I waited for her to go to dance then whispered to the mamasan if she could get C1 to back off. She fixed it with minimal loss of face and C1 never troubled me again. BUT …
Some time ago a truly obese couple came into the bar. They were both over 300lbs, for sure. They were clearly very much in love and had a right to a good time like anyone else. But of course all the girls were worrying and praying to Buddha that the Mr and Mrs would not ask them over.
C1 was not put off in the slightest. She sat with them, smiled all the time and made them welcome. After about 30 minutes they wanted to barfine her. All the other girls cheered as the three of them left. I am sure they took care of Ton generously and she was back the next night none the worse for the experience.
2. Some customers are scared of the A Team. A lot of us oldsters get performance anxiety around young stunners like A1 or A2. The C Team girls are comfortable, they are have zero attitude, are non threatening, they make us look young.
3. They give the A and B Team a rest from dancing too much. I think this backfire on Rawhide though. I have seen customers do a u-turn at the door when they come in to see the C Team on stage looking bored and slightly embarrassed to be up there.
Management also seems to want to pack the stage with as many girls as possible from time to time, e.g. just before closing. I have no idea why. Only the “A Plus” team (A1, A2 and A3 now she’s back) are exempt.
Overall I am sure the C Team makes money for the bar. I don’t mind them at all and often buy them drinks. Often they are so grateful to get a drink it is touching. But the pecking order is clear: if a B team girl comes by the C Team makes space for her. If there’s an A Teamer with me they don’t come near.

For some strange reason all the A team girls crowd around me…. sucks been young and handsome with a crap load of cash to burn. I like the C team cos they are much more plump and cruvy…. ohhh well thats life

That’s cool.
But could they open the “C Team” bar next door so as not to ruin my view of the A girls?

Sorry – gogos don’t like you taking pictures. That seems to be a universal rule. Come over and see all the “Teams” for yuorself. You won’t be disappointed.

Can anyone think of a reason some bars like to pack girls on stage like sardines? Nothing encourages the Bangkok shuffle and pole leaning line having 20 girls on a stage designed for 10. Fewer girls on stage and longer breaks to give the girls a chance to extort funds and rest so they might actually dance when it is there turn on the catwalk.

You can take pictures in Manila. And in Angeles City.

Cabby – I think it is pretty simple. They think more girls equals more bar fines – the overly simplistic Thai way of thinking. I agree though – I wish there was more space, more dancing and chances of getting a better view.

Sorry – I meant a universal ban on in pictures in Thai gogos. In fact, have you seen the number of “no photography” signs there are in Bangkok? The elevators in my apartment building have them. I tend to ignore them but have never wanted to take photos in my elevator.

Good post Arthur.
I’ve always wondered why there are some older plump girls in Soapies too, sitting along side the stunners. You would think they never get selected at all. But these girls serve a purpose for those that like that kind of women. Different strokes for different folks I guess. From my experience the ones not selected often, were the most memorable, because they are very grateful you chose them!!!

you gotta love the C-team.
for me they are just part of the overall experience. i mean, you remember the hottest ones and you remember the the ugliest ones and then you leave with the one in the middle. you get drunk and forget what she looked like so you say she was a 10. you add it all up, add a couple of elephants walking the city streets and some diarrhea and that is the story you tell all your friends back home.
btw can i have a quick survey of ages…no offense to anyone but i feel like i might be on the young side of this crowd (meaning the whole forumd) but i’m not sure.
for the record i’m 27 yrs old and live/work in indonesia
