Coming into the last leg of a five continent, 3 week tour I find myself in KL again. I was just getting in from Vietnam and was looking for something different. I attended a VIP party full of Vietnamese models and media talent – but after talking to some euro-viet models that, with heels, were twice the height of Penfold – I deduced that I was firmly out of my league.

I bid my farewells and headed to more familiar territory.

Penang nightlife – or lack thereof…

Well folks. Last post from rainy Penang. I am so glad to be coming back to BKK!

After my Post 2 escapades I figured there was no use trying to top that so I just hung out – reading, writing and exploring a little bit. I guess if you have never been to Malaysia one could do okay in Penang for a few days but after living in Bangkok it is really tough to enjoy this place. I did my best but Bangkok rules.

Mango Weekly – 20 August 2006 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

Made a Visa run to Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia August 15-17, 2006. A couple of days doing the necessary with the Thai Embassy combined with a little KL nightlife research was the agenda for the trip. At the end, and what seems to becoming a pattern now, I was glad to get back to Thailand. Summary of the trip is below. Information on the web is pretty scattered and out of date on KL but I found a few websites helpful:

Day 2 – Party Time – beware the boyfriend!

Okay. I don’t think I can top the last post and despite what some are saying – it is true which is why I can hardly live with myself. Maybe therapy is in order? Oh well. Good copy. Good copy. After the “incident” I went back to my coffee shop Cafe Ole, to work on the blog and recompose myself. BTW – the wifi is free, the coffee is good and the service is great. They even watched my gear whilst I went to the restroom. A great find in KL. After blogging I went to the hotel for a powernap, a shower and to plot my evening. I figured for the night hunt I would go after something a little more my age.
