Catching up…

Been out for a while so trying to catch up and hit a few spots.

Quick reminder: Big party this Friday night – Feb 4. DWIII. Stay tuned for more details.

First off the plan was to grab some food – headed to Patpong soi 2 – whipped past the star of light, the place frightens me, and headed to Le Bouchon – best french food in town. Crazy spot, good people watching and an amazing menu. Being in Singapore now I am seriously impressed with the value for an amazing meal like that. Stuffed – we headed to Bada Bing to unwind a bit before trekking further – we were just too full to move far.

Before eating, I made reservations, I stopped into the black pagoda – that weird semi-go go bar that hangs over patpong soi 2. This place could be so cool but there are just not real any hot girls and the pushy mamasan, ex electric blue, just annoys the hell out of me. The outfits are sexy though and they do move around but nothing to really stay for. Only tip is you can short time right upstairs for those looking to party on the prowl.

Bada Bing – I use to dig it more than I do now. The girls are a little full of themselves but what is the major bummer is their new outfits of wearing underwear with super tight waist bands, tights and then shorts. Practically sealed up like fort knox. Boring. Music is cool and the gay papasan is a crack up but hovers around a bit much for my tastes.

After patpong headed to cowboy. First up was Baccara – upstairs was so packed that we got some shit seats. Called a few girls over but I think the attitude is lame there. We had a few and then bolted.

Midnight – had not been in here in MONTHS. I was pleasantly surprised. Some lookers, some super good shows with tons of nudity and a few of the star dancers are hot. Good party atmosphere and fun the waitresses were also playful. They got some youguns in there though so be careful. They also have 2 or 3 fully cut ladyboys who get totally nude – for me this is a somewhat of a drawback but I know YP would love it. So if you want to see what a cut ladyboy looks like go check the shows. They have one shower show with the cut ladyboy and one of the hotties. Interesting. I would say Midnight was one of the better spots right now.

Checked out sheba – lots of naked girlies but the music and the ambiance was somewhat lacking.

Dollhouse was having a party upstairs so the pickings were slim. One tidbit for the drinkers – Dollhouse has cranberry juice so they make a decent vodka/cranberry.

The Krispy Kreme line still going strong. You can get in the line to buy by the box which takes like 5 mins or wait to pick your own – which takes around an hour. Insane. I think they could come up with ways to make it faster but I think the line draws more people so they like it this way. Must be making hordes of cash.

What is funny is the way dunkin donuts tries to compete by taking their basic glazed donut and keeping them warm. FYI – there was no line at dunkin donuts.

Remember the Suan Lum night bazaar? Well it is not longer. Really sad to see a fun place enjoyed by tourists and locals totally wiped out. Bkk needs another mall and/or condo building like Nana needs another ladyboy bar.

lets hope they don’t build any more honor farm style jail housing like the ones that used to surround the old bazaar? Is the boxing arena still up? Never made it over to see a fight but had planned on it at some point. Is that gym/training area behind the bazaar still around? But agreed, the bazaar and beergarden was a cool spot to change things up from lower Suk! Ekkmai was looking pretty clean and ready to follow the Thong Lo western model? Not sure if the flavor suits me but am digging the refined and level sidewalks! (not very Thai but maybe somethings should change?)

Total bummer on Suan Lum. Land was too valuable I guess.

Singapore has a lot going on, but it takes some effort to uncover.
Too bad about SL.
Wasn’t overly impressed with Cowboy last week, although I saw 1-2 barfinable hotties at Tilac. For whatever reason, the Beergarden had a much higher than normal proportion of hot FL’s last Friday night. Lots of rents must be due

tilac has really gone to the dogs literally – no real hotties, the girls have a poor attitude and the bill padding is increasing. the girls are also getting very pushy for drinks. shame as it was one of my favourites but not any more. agree midnight has really picked up some lookers!!

Tilac Bar? Meh. The only reason Id ever go there, is for the Erdinger Beer. Oh, I did creampie a pretty filthy little crackwhore from there at the tail end of a 48 hour bender, so make that 2 reasons

Yeah, it’s unfortunate that some real estate developer’s greed wins out over things that actually attract tourists.

I bet loads of tourists come here for condos, malls, and 12 optical stores in a row…

really, that place was a dump; kinda’ like the atlantic city boardwalk before gambling was legalized (and way too many katoy in the “show”)

i think i read they wanna’ go 70 stories there (right above the MRT ya’ know)
