Of English Sponosrs & Thai Duplicity

Just back from the annual pilgrimage to England and I’m beyond calling these rare ventures into the West reality checks. It’s now gotten to the point of culture shock. The prices. The attitude. The hassle. Nothing opens the eyes to just how easy life is in Thailand than spending five days in the West.
Did get a chance, though, to play tourist for once and was struck not only with how weird it felt to be back in the first world – speaking English and generally being blanked by any women under 30 — but also by the number of guys hooked up with Asian girls. I also thought that maybe one of the dour-faced single guys I saw around London might actually be the sponsor of my current gik who recently got a reality check of his own, and has the scars to prove it.
I can guarantee some of the comments that will appear below will be the usual product of the He-Man (Western) Woman Haters Club, whining on about how fat, ugly and horrible the girls back home are and how Thai women are so much better. I don’t buy it. I saw or met at least a half-dozen down-right gorgeous English women and saw plenty more that would beat out your average sample of Thai go-go girls in the looks department.
I also got the distinct impression English girls, particularly the younger ones, are slimming down compared with even my visit last year, a view my traveling partner, a Birmingham native, affirmed. He reckons the avalanche of media reports about obesity are actually having an effect.
So I don’t believe the shtick that guys are looking to Thai and other Asian girls because the girls back home aren’t an option. In fact, percentage-wise, the Brit guys I saw fell pretty far below the women in the quality-human department. Perhaps it’s the women shunning the men and not the other way around? Maybe that’s why some of these guys are such easy marks for more mercenary Thai females.
I love watching TGs on the plane with their Brit boys. Or without them. A cute little one was sitting next to me on the flight back. She was living with her ‒boyfriend” in the U.K. and was supposedly traveling home to visit family. On landing she made two calls. One in Thai and the second, very quietly, in English. She kept looking over at me to see if I could hear her lining up a rendezvous with her ‒other” boyfriend. (Of course I could.)
Duplicity
But that’s nothing compared with the duplicity I’ve been a witness to — OK, I admit, a participant in — lately.
The victim in this case may indeed be one of those dour-faced Englishmen. Around 40, short and balding, Alex was certainly no prize. But for nearly the last year he’s been sponsoring one particular Pattaya go-go girl for about 30,000 baht a month. In return, she promised to leave the bar scene, head home to Chantaburi, go to school and look for their soon-to-be marital home.
Thing is, she took the money but never actually left.
Yes, we’ve all heard it before. But this was my first time actually being involved with one of these legendary creatures. (Well, I had shagged one girl once when her sponsor called, but this case is a little different in that she’s my regular (and mostly unpaid) squeeze.
It all started about a month ago. As she does a few times a week, she came over and crawled into bed after her bar closed. And, as usual, she woke me up in the nicest way. But just as we’re getting started, the phone rings. She shushes me to be quiet, telling me it’s Alex. No problem. It’s his gravy train I’m riding, so I’m happy to oblige.
But the call goes on for a while and, for the fun of it, I try to see how much distraction she can tolerate while still keeping her voice level. At one point, though, it becomes to much and she makes some unintelligible nose and hangs up. A moment later Alex calls back. She apologizes, saying her phone battery is almost dead.
By how, however, she’s pulled me on top of her and I really try to start distracting her. A true professional, she wows the judges by holding the conversation together perfectly while going at it full throttle. I was impressed, to say the least.
The next day both of us chucked over her deceptive ways, but agreed it was one of the hottest sessions we’d had.
Alex would call pretty regularly in the days that followed, but we didn’t repeat our efforts. Instead she told him the story he wanted to hear: She was at home. She was checking out schools, but needed 3,000 baht a week for the one she liked. And she was checking out houses. She asked when he was coming to Thailand again and how long he planned to stay. About a month before the end of the year, it seems. He asked her for a photo of her Chantaburi home. She promised more than a few times to e-mail one.
‘I Cried. Just a Little Bit…’
Fast forward to about a week ago. The gik comes over before work and says her and Alex are finished. Seems he called her while she was eating at some outdoor noodle stand and, during the conversation, Alex overheard some loud farang speaking English in the background.
Although she protested it was a farang at home, some light clicked on and he just knew she was in Pattaya and had been lying all along.
I can only imagine him crumbling on the U.K. end of that call.
As for my gik, ‒I cried. Just a little bit,” she told me the next day. She wasn’t crying because she loved him. Although she told him she did, she said she didn’t really love him, but thought he would take good care of her and her family. Same old story. She cried because a good, steady income stream ended. Considering I only give her a couple thousand baht a month when she’s between barfines, she certainly wasn’t going to replace him with me.
We’ll see how that works out…

I really like the fact that you make clear the fact that Western girls are juts as hot as Thai ones – if not hotter, and that the line that Thai girls are so fantastic is just so much *spin* by guys who have it hard back home.
Its refreshng to hear so obvious a truth spoken by someone who clearly is sold on the Thai scene and makes his life here – to guys not sold on the Thai scene it has all been painfully obvious. I think, though, that all of us would have a better time in Thailand if we stop ego-saving fantasies and admit obvious truths – Western chics are hot, we cant get them, we are in Thailand. Thai chics are a second-best choice, but its all we have. Yay!
I have to say, though, that I dont see too many Asian-farang couples in the West, anywhere. There definitely are some, but I think you were mentally primed to spot them so you had a sense that they were more prevalent than they really were.

If it was me and I was “at it full throttle” while a young lady lay there maintaining a full conversation with someone else, two things would spring to mind: one, I am not very effective in that department; and two, I rank in a similar position to Alex (i.e. I too am another individual who only has an impact on this girl’s life when it is convenient for her to fein such an impact)….Hmmmmm

I beg to differ.
Alex is a guy who is paying out about 550 pounds a month to a girl he thought was living upcountry, looking for a home for them to get married an live in, planning to go to school and is being totally faithful to him.
I’m a guy who gave her about 3,000 baht fo the entire month to be my little fuck buddy, took her out to a movie once, played pool and had some drinks once and wants or expects nothing more than that.
Plus, I kknow all about her other trysts and he knew nothing.
Doesn’t sound very similar at all to me.

I felt no sympathy for her. Look how far she was willing to push it to lie. Go on national television and take a lie detector test? I could never take a lie that far. Right on Ghost. There are not many places left in the world where an average middle-aged guy can be banging 20 year old girls. But you have been spending too much time in the P4P scene if you think that non-P4P Thai girls in their 20′s are interested in middle-aged men. They blank the men the same as the girls in the west do.
Although I prefer Asian gals I will admit that Thai girls are not as attractive when compared to western girls. Thai girls slut themselves up with high heels, makeup, hair and clothes that do the most with what they have so at first glance they may look hot. But upon close examination they rarely hold up to what internationally is considered “beautiful”. Same goes for the rest of Asia. That’s why there has never been an Asian supermodel. Sure there are Asian models (which are almost always a mixed race) but “supermodels” have never been from Asia.

I did alright in Australia but I wasn’t what you would call a stud. I’d be lucky to bag 5 or 6 birds a year back home – some of them not particularly stellar in the looks department. I banged 6 girls last week in Bangkok… do the maths.
The reason you see so many regular blokes walking around hand in hand with fucking butter trolls in the west is because women hold all the cards there. They make the rules. Here is my take on beautiful women and exotic people around the world. When I was living in the USA I sometimes dated American girls. I (and I think many other people) have always been attracted to exotic women. At various times I have fallen in lust with Asian, Russian, and Latina women and a major reason was because they were something different from the average white brunette I saw around the office. Two of the most beautiful women I have ever known were 1/2 Asian. One was Thai/Italian and the other was Viet/Black. That said there are plenty of hotties and the office and in the clubs. They are everywhere not just in Asia.
Now that the tables are turned and I am living in Mexico I am at the other side of the spectrum. When I was living in KY I was just an average looking overweight mid 30′s white dude with light brown hair and glasses. Now I’m a tall blonde white guy and get a lot more action than I ever did at home. Am I any different a person? Not really. I walk a lot more and eat a lot less so I’ve lost some weight but here I’m the exotic one and since I’m different girls seem to take more notice. The biggest comment I get is on my eyes. For some reason the latinas seem to all want to comment on my hazel eyes. They aren’t that great they are just different from the normal brown they are used to seeing.
Ironically I tend to get less notice from the P4P girls. I have some customers that are P4P and only one seems interested. The bar she works at isn’t convenient for me. When I go to the cantinas I am generally avoided in favor of the Mexican guys. That is just not true. The numbers may not be huge, but it is irrefutable that a guy in his mid 40s can date non-P4P girls half his age in Bangkok, just by putting in a little effort.
An adequate number of Thai girls are strangely not put off by age differences. Mine is not to reason why.

I agree with you, however, I think a lot of it also has to do with how well the gent looks that is in his late 30′s/early 40′s. Some guys in this age range look like life beat the living hell out of them, while other look younger and more vibrant. For the latter, it is a lot easier to get away dating a women half his age…

Yes, I do agree that appearance has much to do with it, although one doesn’t need movie star looks. I am fairly fit, dress well and do on occasion lie about my age. I’m mid-40s, but have once or twice (or more) claimed 38. My current gig, (who just called to ask if i wanted to see a “hot chick in a sexy dress for Loi Kratong”) asked once and I said 40, but I don’t think she cares one bit.
However, two other factors are equally important: effort and believing you deserve it. I am horrible inconsistent and will wallow in self pity for months at a time. However at other points, I will talk to every attractive girl I see anywhere. It is a numbers game and can take an awful lot of start up effort. You also have to be confident. Begging or acting like they are doing you a favor is the kiss of death. I do have to give the pick up artist movement credit for showing me that if I act like I have no doubt they should be fucking me, the feeling becomes mutual.

We’re able to run around in Bangkok (or Manila, or Jakarta, or Ho Chi Minh for that matter) with chicks half our age because of the relative wealth disparity. The guys thats sponsor these girls from overseas are coming to the table with an empty cup and expecting these chicks to fill it for them, and guaranteed these arn’t the first girls they’ve pitched in for, they are repeat offenders.

When in Bangkok last time, two female friends asked me what I missed most about home. I answered:
1. TV. After a few days in LOS Im always craving some drama or documentary to stimulate the grey-matter, although I love that afternoon Thai cop show where the guy gets riddled with bullets in the opening credits while a syrupy ballad sung over the top!!
2. Proper hosiery (the sad perv that I am). A lively discussion then ensued about garters, pantyhose, etc.

As we all know “Thais make the best friends money can buy” So I do not see much point in the initial entry by PG. A tale of greed and dishonesty. What’s new? Especially when dealing with prostitutes? And their customers? Like watching a movie suspension of disbelief is required. I wonder however, at the smug glee, with which the episode is reported. There is something strangely ubpleasant about it. I wonder if a bunch of guys have just come in her mouth (a party trick of the pattaya addicts set), before she visits PG, and someone is having a laugh at his expense. I kinda hope so. But it is ironic the way she was found out.

Hi Ghost. Look mate , I live in Birmingham where you came 2 weeks ago and the women here are just absolutely horrible and fat. Walk round West Bromwich for a few hours mate and the only thin girls you see are either anorexic or crack whores.
I’m typing this whilst doing my job working in a strip club ( you know who I am )and 3 guys just walked in. We have a great lineup of half decent young sexy girls and one dancer who’s pushing 40, fat and horribly lined ( with a coke habit and drug dealer rastafarian bf ).

Yep, the dog. It’s like this. The horrible girls have to try harder and don’t take no for an answer. The pretty girls have had guys licking round them since they reached puberty and don’t have any skills to catch a smart rich customer.
I’ve been in this business 15 years, I’ve seen it time and time again.

ps. In the time it’s took me to type this, that girl has got a guy to go into a Champagne Room (min spend 200GBP ) . So he’s just spent 200 to spend half an hour with a 40 yo smack bunny, whilst all the pretty girls are sitting preening their hair at the bar.
