If you like Girly Berry, who doesn’t, then you may want to check out the new movie Naang Mai – นางไม้. It stars ones of the singers from Girly Berry. The movie is rather bizarre but I liked it and almost every scene has the gorgeous Gybzy in it. The other bonus is it seems a lot of Girly Berry fans are going to see the movie as well. Can’t beat that.
Speaking of Asian babes – Asian Sweetheart has relaunched her blog and it is pretty cool. I head over often to check out what is going on in the world of Thai babes.
New club in Ekkamai that looks interesting. Started in part by Mike of Mike’s Bar Guide – Old Skool Bangkok looks to be a nice edition to the string of bars and clubs all over Ekkamai and Thong Lo. We wish Mike and team the best. This is a brave time to be starting new things but I applaud their sense of bravery. I plan on stopping by one of these days - and I might even introduce myself.
Okay. On to a pet peeve of mine. I think we need to define what the notion is of a Uni Girl.
If this topic is off no interest to you or you do not think it is worth the debate – then read no further.
Yes. Waking up to that is a fine thing. The black skirt, the white top with the school buttons, the belt, the binder clip to hold the belt to the skirt and the – well the pumps. Not very school like but it works. Big time.
Scan flickr and there is an army of people taking photos of Uni Girls. I frankly can’t get enough of them myself.
I remember one of the first times I actually hooked up with a Uni Girl and I woke up to her ironing her outfit, in the nude, while I was nursing my hangover. The site of the little bod diligently concentrating on getting every wrinkle out of her black skirt was just too much for me. I had to beg her to jump back in bed and swore it would only take 5 mins. It didn’t. I made her late for school and never heard the end of it.
However – there is seems to be so much banter on the Net about Uni Girl this and Uni Girl that – so much so that I think the definition of it needs some work.
If something as simple as an English breakfast needs defining then I think the Uni Girl could use some discussion as well.
I am hoping we can work through this with this post.
First off just because a girl wears the outfit and might have gone to school one time in the past month does not make her a proper Uni Girl. Either she is going to school or she isn’t. Bangkok is so full of second rate schools and degree mills that it is just silly. I don’t know how many girls I have met at Baccara that claim to go to Uni. One day a week, to study marketing and they have been at it for years. Don’t get me wrong – maybe they really are going to Uni but if they are working at a go-go then I think they flunk the Uni Girl litmus test. Just that simple.
When I read comments about the Uni Girls at Tilac doing the coyote thing on the weekend I have to pause and think about this. A Uni Girl working at a go-go bar, getting shitfaced every weekend and supposedly not going with customers? Those coyote girls go – trust me – they just go about it in a different way and try to pretend they are something more special than the average bar fineable go-go girl. It works. Customers lap it up in droves. Smart move by Tilac.
Still this is not a Uni Girl.
As guys who enjoy P4P there is a tendency to assume that all Thai girls are on the game or will cave in sometimes for money. This is just not the case but many times people who partake in the P4P scene tend to think this is the way all of Thailand works. Even myself, having dated a girl from a G club for a while, have realized that girls are either somehow associated with the game or not. Maybe we are getting into the definitions of gray again and this is a rathole that probably has no answers.
The G Club girl I was dating was hot, new to the scene and claimed to be a good girl. Initially she was but the allure of easy money, rich guys and acquiring possessions was just too much for her. So our casual relationship was just not enough for her money wise. When a car dealership calls to let a girl know her new car that some rich customer has bought and paid for is waiting to be picked up, things change – quickly. I was there during the phone call and could only marvel at the system and how it mightily outgunned me.
Of course she would never admit to be being paid for sex or companionship but would only say that she needed to be taken care of. I am cool with it but I think that is where the line is drawn between a working girl and a non-working girl. Say what you will but there is a line there and the line is similar to the one a go-go girls crosses, a massage girl crosses, a free lancer or the good girl on Facebook who exchanges sex for a nice holiday.
What is my point in all this? A Uni Girl would have to be defined as a girl that is not on the game, does not work part time in places where sex is for sale, on the sly or not, and is actually going to school. Maybe that narrows the field a bit but my guess is there are still hundreds of thousands of Uni Girls to be had. And yes – Uni Girls do hook up and a part from cab fare from time to time they are not looking to be paid for the TX. If they are then you might be discovering that beautiful section in the gray area where a part timer is looking for cash and is willing to do things for it. Don’t get me wrong – that is a nice little area.
I used to see a girl, when she had to would go to Uni but never came close to finishing, who would pop around every once in a while for a quickie. The best times are when she wore her Uni outfit. Every other meeting she would ask for some money and I would oblidge since it was still cheaper than P4P and it was so much fresher. I realized that the whole thing was about money and my willingness to pay for it but she wanted to make the whole thing appear less transactional. Fine – I still enjoyed it but given this I would still not call her a proper Uni Girl. However I would kill for more of these opportunities.
Maybe this is a silly point to be discussing but I think it helps to define it a bit so that when someone says – I met a nice Uni Girl we all know what they are talking about and the assumption is you did not find her on cowboy.
For the record – my record with Uni Girls, based on the premise we just discussed, is not great.

I hooked up with a R4 girl once (stunning she was, tall Chinese Thai) who went to a university… located somewhere 45 minutes out of BKK (might have been a Pattaya campus
). So yeah she wouldn’t pass the uni qualification as per ssB’s definition, but I enjoyed her visits in The (altered – much shortened & tightened) Uniform. In fact, my knees are still getting weak as I recall those encounters.

Its been known that the uni girls sometimes like to go clubbing ratchada looking for a sugar dad to bankroll it and this seems to be a safer bet to meet them than the sukhumvit sois, only would be difficult to find out if they are uni girls without some social intercourse (they dont wear the uniform to clubs of course!).

On the subject of Old Skool in Ekkamai, I have walked past there a few times and it looks pretty swank inside. Not been in, although will be sure to head their soon and touch base with a report.
They have a ‘theme’ night every night. They also have some slutty looking service/promo girls
They have a ‘buy 2 get 1 free’ night and a 50% off ladies night, which I think is a bit lame. Having never ran a bar I have no fucking place to say what a bar should do, but I think a ‘but 1 get 1′ and free ladies drinks until X time, would be more attractive to the customer, and in such shitty times, they should be luring in as many punters as they should.

rick – i think the faculty does have a good reputation, but the students generally don’t for reasons mentioned (yes, of course there are exceptions, as we’ve all seen). having said that, it’s supposed to be easy to get in, but difficult to get out with a degree, and many never do. if you graduate with honors, it’s considered impressive, but at the end of the day though, as ssb says, places hiring lawyers will look for a chula or thammasat degree (yes, there are exceptions, i know, i know).

Speaking of hot looking chicks – like many others I enjoy sitting at one of the outside bars on Cowboy, or outside entrance bars at Nana, and watch the girls come to work. When I was at “Uni” I had a couple of friends who were turning tricks and working as escorts to pay their way.
I know a girl who used to work Cowboy and she originally went there when she had no money to pay for her school fees. She asked a friend how she could make quick money and her friend said Cowboy. my only experience with Uni girls has been look but no touch with my GF’s nieces … almost identical twins ! I’ve been down that road with a true Uni girl. She was going to Mahasarakham University and I shacked up with her for a few months in her room near the Uni. Ahh Sideshow, so it’s the challenge of the chase of bagging the real uni student?? Nothing wrong with that. What about looking for part time uni students that are actually working regular part time jobs at a retail store like the Emporium or Robinsons? These might be the places to look or even the regular waitress at a decent restaurant.
