Hello folks. Party tonight with DJ “Nick Le Bon” at Club Ibiza. Looks to be some killer music and I might drop in if I get my shit done. Club Ibiza is underneath the Intercontinental Bangkok – easy access from Chit Lom BTS. Ladies get in free all night. Could be interesting.
Also this is the one week countdown to the Star Trek party at the Mango. Swing by and get your button. Pmmp promises uniforms soon. Hmmmmm.
So yesterday was Big Buddha day with Cowboy shutdown and Nana plus Patpong going strong. Before you think Cowboy was shut over religious or moral reasons please think again. The rumor was the Mark, the PM, was having some meeting at his house and most of the people would be arriving the back way via the Suk soi 23 cutover – so that means passing by Cowboy. They did not want to deal with the traffic or the people so since it happened to fall on the Buddha day they just ordered Cowboy shut. Nice.
In reading this review on WT for the Bank I am reminded that some people have money and just want to have a good time. No bitching about Happy Hour or how many pops for 1500 baht and so on. Sometimes I tire of the web audience trying to homogenize all experiences by deciding what people should pay for the fun they have. You should pay whatever you want as long as you are getting what you want.
The other night I had dinner with a girl from one of the G clubs. She was telling me a story about how some white guy rolled into the G club a few weeks back and wanted a private party with Coyote girls. 14 girls. In Koh Samet for 2 nights. So the guy paid 5900 for each girl for each day. Yes – that’s 165,200 baht just to the G club. Then he arranged transportation, a bunch of suites at the resort plus food and drink for all. Supposedly a group of guys joined him. There was also rumors of 30k in party favors. Word was it was a wicked party. Respect.
This crackdown on pirated goods is almost comical. The police make a point of going to the highest profile tourist spot and try to confiscate goods. Goods people paid money for, in shops they pay rent on and with the same police standing around that they pay money to for the right to sell the pirated or copied goods. So the battle turned into the government fighting against their own police officers who take a shitload of money from the vendors to begin with. Just comical. Sure – maybe it is time Thailand dealt with the problem but they will need to deal with their own corrupt police force and government officials first but instead they take an already shit tourist season and make it worse by firing shots in their air in one of the busiest outdoor night markets in Bangkok. Amazing.

2 months until the Big Mango 1st year anniversary in the new location. Should be a big one.

Seems like a slightly more of an imaginative way of enjoying BG’s, as oppose to the usual BG hunt in familiar surroundings of your usual Bangkok Bar.

I’m hanging out with one Cowboy GoGo Girl since the end of last month.
She’s back to work now.
She told me her bar closes at 3h00. Yet at 3h45, she called to say that her boss still wants her there.
She’s having her periods — so she can’t go with customers…
She’s calling from one of her friend’s cellphone, since hers is dead.
I always told her that I don’t mind if she wants to hang out with her friends, that she’s basically free to do want she wants. The only thing I ask is for her to speak truth — and only truth — to me. So I see no reason for her to lie, if she wants to go out without me.

Sure, I pay for clothes, food and drinks; I buy wisky for her friends also when we go out.
But she cleans my place everyday. And our clothes. She cooks and go fetch food.
She transformed my bare room into something handy and practical; it feels good to live here now. And she looks quite happy “living” here now.
But you’re right about the slippery slope; it’s probably a dangerous path, on an affective level. I know it’s stupid to fall in live with an Isaan Cowgirl; and stupid to think that she does not fit the prototypical pejorative profile of the insane brown BG: she’s not lazy at all; she’s careful with my money when she use it to order food or by stuff; and she does not get drunk or stoned too much.

@Katechon – she might be telling the truth. She might have her period and she might have to stick around the bar because there is still a mamasan around and going out with customers who haven’t paid bar is a no no. Occam’s Razor tells us she is probably just trying to do her job the best she can. If she was off for a month, her regulars will miss her. Even if she is totally in love with you, you won’t get her to admit she is with a customer. If you catch her out, they weren’t having sex, or just old friend, or old man cannot have sex, or have period, or just take photos, or go dancing, or customer want to go gay bar but shy… a girls got to pay the bills. She won’t believe you that telling you what she is up to is ok, because in all honesty it probably isn’t. It will affect your relationship (no matter if it is true love or paying customer), and may affect her mental compartmentalization between ‘work’ and ‘play’. The only way of changing this is to get her out of the bar, which costs lots, and stay with her full time in a real relationship. The slippery slope.

Katechon, you can justify anything, The fact is that, if you give them enough rope they will hang themselves. Just sit back take everything that she gives you, without turning over your cash or too much cash and look at your relationship with the honey honestly. K — A little common sense: If you’re not giving her money, then who is? Girl still needs to eat, buy stuff and take care of mama. Maybe you think you’re special and put yourself above guys “who have to pay for it” but the basic fact of life is we all have to work (well, except for “some white dude” and his 14 G club girls).
Guys who get off on saying “I never give them money” are basically being cheap with the person they supposedly care about. You don’t want her to shag guys for cash? Give her cash to come home at hte proper hour or find her a better job.

@Kat – I think you meant “BBB” not “BBK” as BBK is a very bad word around here and we don’t talk about that anymore.
On another note, if/when your girl quits her job, please do NOT give any money directly to the mother. Give it to your girl and instruct her never to tell her mom who it came from. This will save a you a ton of money and headaches in the very near future.

I think BBK is only disliked by a extremely vocal minority here. His conrtibutions continue to be read by visitors here. You may not like him, but he’s had an impact. I keep seeing in other posts terms such as “the reservation”, “quality fabrics” “the world”…etc (and not always used in a derisive manner).
People such as yourself need a safe place where you can mingle and exchange like minded ideas and jokes, and this site delivers that. It seems the complaints about BBK are all the same. Echoing BBB’s philippic remarks. Not very unique.
Lot’s of useful information can be obtained here and over at bigbabykenny.com. I enjoy TFS2M and BBK’s site. The owners here should take some pride in spawning an expansion of the Thailand blogging scene and acknowledge the positive impact BBK has had for the the Mango blog and subsequent web traffic. It can only help their business.

kat – assuming your story is legit, there’s nothing unusual about it. you can learn the “hard way” by giving her the benefit of the doubt until either you’re broke or you come to your senses. OR you can take the “quick fix” approach which will cost you no more than a couple thousand baht. you get to the same result either way (forgetting about the girl and moving on), but the quick fix is far more cost effective.
pay the most repulsive bloke you see wandering around cowboy (assuming that’s where she works) for a short time. assuming he’s amenable, which most guys presumably would for a free lay, agree ahead on a short time hotel and hide out in the closet (the short time place on cowboy has nice spacious closets). force yourself to watch the action, and you’ll want nothing to do with her again. to make sure the effect is not lost on you, provide him with a blue pill.
if that doesn’t work, or if for some reason you’re aroused by the whole thing, then there’s no helping you. incidentally, i just heard of this quick fix from a friend – no personal experience (‘sob’).

Katechon – Even if she speaks atrocious English, she can work in a non P4P bar and get 6k wage + maybe 2k tips per month. If you pay rent and food and some fun money, it might be enough to get her to hop ship. If she doesn’t bite, that might be enough to get you over it. Assuming you live in Bangkok nearly full time. If she is an attractive whore (which if she isnt, what the fuck is he doing with her) then she could be making anything from 30-100k a month plus. @Penfold – These aren’t investment bankers, they are bargirls. Some of them have their shit together and are mercenary. Others don’t have a clue how much they pull in and spend – just the number the ATM tells them they have. Many of them work bar because they honestly didn’t think there was an option – they just went and worked where their friend/mum/sister/aunt did. There are plenty who would jump at the chance of a real relationship, and there are plenty that do. Rather than think of them as hard nosed capitalists, I tend to have more luck thinking of them as drunk teenagers addicted to the worst sort of soap operas. Hell, some of them are even honest, and even if they are not, not everyone cares if their GF slips off with the occasional good-tipper as long as it is discrete and doesn’t affect the home life – less demand on the live in ATM, and people who end up whoring in Bangkok for any length of time somehow seem less hung up on monogamy than in other parts of the world…
Anyway – worth asking. The answer will give insights no matter what it is. Just be warned that it might be acceptance
And introduce her to friends – friends and their networks can be surprisingly accurate if you are prepared to listen to them.

Katechon, listen to the worst of it. She’s either of the mental disposition that she would sell what others consider sacred for silly material goods – a bag with a label, a slightly better brand of clothing, whatever – rather than do without or she’s got a grasping family who pull her and you down. Probably both. Once she’s got over the mental hurdle of selling herself once, she’ll never think of herself the same again. You can’t put that back in the bottle and she’ll always know she can go back to it easily. Other things she’ll take lightly apart from sucking other men’s cocks? Lying, trust, trust in men. I know the average bargirl is fairly thick, but trying to convince us they had no idea that shops, restaurant and the like dont exist and offer employment is pushing it a bit. Perhaps their friends paint the whoring world to be a lot rosier then it is and lure them into it, but still takes a certain type of girlto go down that road.
I’ve lost count of the amount of bargirls I’ve spoken to/porked that worked in salons, restaurants, MBK, shops etc etc that gave up the normal life to peddle their meat in Nana and Cowboy as they tired of the long days and low pay.

All the ones whose stories I know were told straight off that bat by the ‘friend’ that got them into the scene exactly what was involved. (It’s always the friend of a friend…)
They’re told: “It’s good money but you have to be prepared to do *this* and *this* and *this*. Can you do it?” So the ones who say yes already have a certain detachment about them. The ones who stay have shown they have even more.
Once they’ve got beyond a certain point (I’d say 6 months to a year), they start getting a taste for the finer things and can’t go back to a normal life. They can’t be arsed to budget, to ride the bus rather than taxis, to compromise on brand of hair spray, lipstick, number of clothes items they buy every month. They’ll just go out and fuck for it rather than do that.
A fuck or suck soon equates to a material possession, work, nothing more. There’s no meaning or loyalty involved in it.

I’ve done many tasks and assignments for higher pay that I didn’t enjoy doing, or thought there was any real value resulting from my time, rather than working at lower-paid jobs that I considered much more meaningful.
Who are we to slag off on BGS choosing to work in bars at pay much higher than their practical alternatives. After all, the BGs are the ones who get paid for doing the same thing that we pay to do.

Gotta agree with YP here, there is plenty of girls working normal service jobs who go the whore route. I saw a coyote dancer from cowboy from a while and if you go to a certain sushi restaurant in WTC you could meet her too. My point, I think it says a lot about her that she chooses to go down that road.
Now, she is hot as hell, but the headaches of dealing with a ‘pro’ is too much. These girls are the female equvivalent of a ‘player’. They know all the tricks in the book and if you are not going to get burned you better know some plays yourself. Just too much hassle really when you can meet ‘good’ uni girls everyday.

That G Club getaway sounds so sweet! And totally doable. Think about it, you are your average expat with salary of 120k – 200k THB a month, with a few, not even many similar friends from Thailand or surrounding countries, most probably from China. (You might even have a missus waiting at home but all you say is that you are going to Hua Hin for weekend geaway with your plans. Doesnt matter) And if u got maybe 3 guys, this is not that much of money needed per head to do! So fantastic! (And come on, that many women … I bet there was more than 4 or 5 nice expats having their time of life!) Me tooooo!!!!

Ps. So odd, been in Thailand a year, never gone out with a bargirl outside of the normal “how much for longtime” route. Gone couple of times to dance with group of gals when some rich tourists was paying but never have I felt any emotional attachment to a bar girl. (Hell, actually I have not dated any non-bar girl in Thailand either so…there you have it.)
