It’s a big city

Bangkok is huge. I joke with soi 4 regulars that there is still oxygen outside of soi 4 but some people never leave the soi. Others go to the main areas – which we all know are easier to get to, super Farang friendly and easy to close. U know – cowboy, patpong, nana and the other known spots. So last night a buddy of mine decided it was time we explore a bit and see what kind of trouble we could find. I dare say my faith in Thailand has been restored and the exploration will continue.
We jumped in a cab near Ramkhamhaeng University, still Bangkok, and headed to another part of town near Lad Phrao. First stop was Gotcha. A large Thai style Coyote bar with the typical Thai setup. Food, band, bottles, coyote girls and hostesses. No member card was needed so we waltzed right in and got a nice spot near one of the Coyote stages. We ate some food which by the way there was some interesting things on the menu. Among other items, we tried the Ostrich which was quite tasty. Opening a bottle was not too pricey with a bottle of Red going for 1100 baht including mixers. The only real pricey item was the ladydrinks at 250 per and they usually get u to order in 2s. We ordered one round for our girls but they stuck around to help us with our whiskey and to chat. They speak some English given many of them are Uni girls hoping to get better at English. We speak Thai with my buddy speaking much more than I which is why he landed 2 phone numbers within an hour. We had a good time. For sure we will be back because multiple trips will ensure an in with the managers, the girls and the staff. I am sure phone numbers will translate to some dates and to hooking up but obviously not as fast as paying the bar and hitting the short time hotel. But hey. U can always pay the bar and hit the short time hotel in other parts of town. That will never go away. Point is. This is another part of town – almost another part of the country. Our take on it is u can have your regular around where u live, u can still hit the known easy places as well as cultivate some activity out around the Coyote places. What a life.
We stowed our bottle, will make for easier re-entry, and headed to another street close by to check out Jungle Fever. Jungle Fever is a huge place similar in style to Hollywood on Ratchada. We got there kind of late so there was not chance of getting a spot but this place was rammed with girls, had maybe a 100 coyote girls spread around and some fun music. I think the plan for next time is to get there earlier, stake out a table and ply our trade on a few of the girls. We may fail but it sure will be fun trying.
After Jungle Fever we crossed the road to another small bar that had coyote spelled out in Thai. I honestly forget the name but will try to recall it. This was a small bar with couches, a stage, pool table and various coyote platforms with a chrome pool. The hostess girls, cute, would hang on the couch while we watched the girls dancing. I think this would be another fun place to get to early, chill, buy a bottle, ladydrinks and see where it goes. Numbers were easily collected here as well. One point. These were all Bangkok girls or girls from provinces close to Bangkok. They were fun to talk to, very polite and most had not been near Sukhumvit. This goes well with my other theory about why I like the massage places that don’t get alot of Farang – the girls are just more polite to hang with. No bargirl attitude, proper Thai conversations but also very Farang curious. Closing may be possible here from the first night but for sure a phone number would lead to some Sanook.
We closed this area down and headed back to The Mall ********. Past the mall on the left we were dropped on a side soi. We had asked the taxi if he knew about a street with some small beer bars/karoake places near The Mall ******** and he said he did. He assured us they were open, they stay open until the sun comes up, and that there were girls. We got out and explored. The street looked closed but as we walked we started to see the white dots of eyes, small Thai faces and sexy outfits. Indeed all the bars were open and ready for biz. This area we are hence forth naming – “pattaya soi 6 of outer Bangkok”. However before we can properly review it I have to take a few mates there, fully investigate the area and make sure it is worth writing about. Until then try getting off the beaten path a bit. There are plenty of women to go around.

You guys must be getting old…chasing University girls now? Hmmm…look out for guys with shotguns.

Or, to sum up:
“We found loads of cool bars. They’re great! Tons of hot chicks! And we’re not telling you guys where they are! Suckers!”

Well. I hate to share it. Honestly for those who know Bangkok or can speak even a speck of Thai we have given enough info. Part of the game was to see who could find it – kind of like where’s waldo. We all know this is Thailand – not like one really needs to lie about this stuff. That would be like I had a 3some last night and then my buddy in the US thinking it is not possible. It is. We all know it is. This street is real but thought we would try some people out first – but seriously.

Oh, sure. I did a piece on the Saphan Kwai gogos a while ago. Yet I had a conversation with a Bangkok Thai guy a few days ago who swears that there are no Thai gogo bars in Bangkok. *shrug*
But your mere mortal readers, who are not the likes of you and I, are going to read this and may well be reminded of that old South Park episode where Cartman gets to build his own amusement park, and doesn’t let anybody else on the rides

Well. I am not that bad but the place warrants another trip before we blow it open. Mostly because the first time we visited it was late and I was tired and slightly intoxicated. I also owe taking a few people there first but in fairness I think some people need to hunt around a bit since that is how we found the place. More hints forthcoming.

Departing from the often self-congratulatory tone of this forum, I have to add my own weight to BBB’s criticism of this “I’m in the know but I’m not telling” style of writing. SideshowBOB – Readers will respect you more if you stop playing games with them.

I’d like to revert to the often self-congratulatory tone of this forum. Well done, me!
